KeySpeedTest is a free online typing speed test and typing practice website designed to make WPM improvement clear, accurate, and enjoyable. The site includes timed tests, word count tests, quotes, paragraphs, programming code, numbers and symbols, custom text, zen mode, and instant death mode.

Our goal is to help people type faster without sacrificing accuracy. Whether you are a student writing assignments, a developer practicing code, a professional sending emails, or a writer drafting long documents, better typing reduces friction and gives attention back to the work.

How KeySpeedTest works

KeySpeedTest calculates WPM using correct characters divided by five, then divided by elapsed minutes. Accuracy, raw WPM, errors, and history are shown so you can understand both speed and precision.

Privacy-first practice

Your test history and preferences are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. KeySpeedTest does not require an account to practice typing or view personal progress.
